We’ve welcomed more than a dozen new graduates to SSE Thermal – with the intake set to play key roles in delivering the flexibility needed in the energy system of today and tomorrow.
An induction event took place in Glasgow this month where our 16 new graduates immersed themselves in a day of learning, networking and gaining exposure to SSE’s vital role in delivering net zero.
These promising graduates will play a pivotal role in helping SSE Thermal become the leading provider of flexible thermal energy in a net zero world. They will embark on a variety of different placements within the organisation on six-month rotations, gaining a hands-on understanding of the key business areas and building competencies, skills and knowledge before moving into their substantive post.
The graduates join our already 700+ strong workforce, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas and underlining SSE’s commitment to early careers.
As part of the induction programme, graduates were introduced to SSE Thermal's Managing Director Findlay McCutcheon who welcomed them to the business.
He said: "I was delighted to welcome our new graduates to SSE Thermal, where we place a strong focus on supporting early careers. We now have 41 graduates working within the business, along with 31 apprentices and multiple trainee engineers and interns.
"Our graduates have shown lots of energy and passion and I am absolutely delighted they have chosen to start their careers in the energy transition with us.
"All of these young people play important roles in SSE Thermal, and I am very excited to see where they take us."
Next year's graduate opportunities are now open for applications and can be found HERE.
